Here we are, sunk in the winter doldrums of dreary February. However there are a few bright spots...

Fri 1/31- Sun 2/2, TIMONIUM, MD: Held at the Md State Fairgrounds, the World of Pets Expo http://www.worldofpets.org/ offers a dazzling array of fun, entertainment, demos, info and vendors galore. Animal Planet will be there Sat for auditions for a new program, Pet Stars, and the AKC Parade of Breeds on Sun features Gomez as the Newfoundland representative. Your pet is welcome to enjoy the excitement.

Sun 2/2, 1 pm, CHANTILLY, VA: Hound Hike courtesy of No. Va. Hiking Club http://members.aol.com/nvhc/ at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/parks/ecl/ .

Sat 2/8, 3pm, VARIOUS LOCALES: Mutt Meetup Day, what is it? If anyone goes and finds out, let me know what it's like http://mutts.meetup.com/?change=1&localeId=29 .

Fri 2/14, 7pm, FREDERICK, MD: Agility by Breakaway Action Dogs email vfstanford@aol.com or go to http://www.cleanrun.com/agilityinfo/events/eventsearch.cfm and put in Md for state.

Sat 2/15, ALEXANDRIA, VA: Really got cabin fever? Then go to the George Washington celebration http://www.washingtonbirthday.net/html/events.html in dog friendly Old Town Alexandria, including a parade at 1pm.

Sat 2/15 & Sun 2/16, BALTIMORE, MD: Annapolis Kennel Club http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2003082301.HTM and Maryland KC host an indoor all-breed AKC dog show at the Fifth Regiment Armory.

Every Friday ~7pm-Newf Stroll at the city dock in Annapolis, Md.

Every Sat 9am-11pm, puppy parties, Arlington, Va http://www.arlingtondogs.org/puppies.html
