i have the same problem... face your back to a wall then bend over and touch the ground (this only works if you can put your hands flat on the ground w/out bending your knees) then bring your right leg up the wall and stretch for a couple minutes...it helps me to even out my splits.. then try them again while youre still warm. it should help. another thing..if your splits become too easy of a stretch and you want more pain (lol) do what my teacher calls "squaring" your splits..face your back to a corner and pull your foot up behind you like a thigh stretch and then put your knee directly in the corner as you slide down into your splits. this forces your hips to be square. think it sounds easy? get off your computer chair and try it! the more flexable you are the better dancer you will become!!
