Subject: Ohio Midwestern College has a football team

http://omw.edu/index.php/athletics/football

Does anyone have any information about this team? They are apparently not affiliated with either the NCAA or NAIA, and supposedly played some games in 2011. The 2012 schedule for the team shows games against some NCAA Division II members (Tiffin, Ohio Dominican) in addition to NAIA opponents. I had not heard of this team until a few minutes ago.

I think they are more in the Independent Religious colleges that does not called NCAA or NAIA as homes. There a very few of them like that. I noticed Concordia, Alabama is not a member of both as well. There are smaller groups of college sports leagues out there that does not get on the radar by most people.

Found a little more information about them.

They are part of the NCCAA. They were known as Temple Bible College.

Not sure about them, but if you look at their schedule they play Atlanta Sports Academy who also plays college teams like Ave Maria. When I went to Ave Maria's schedule they are playing a team called Cape Coast Sports Academy from Florida.

The two you mentioned there are club football teams.

It does now appear to me that Ohio Midwestern is a JV- or club-level team at the present time, and that those NCAA Division II and NAIA teams appearing on their schedule are actually games against other JV and club teams. The school's enrollment is only 60 students.

OMC was, for some reason, included on a list of new teams for 2011 that somebody emailed me yesterday.
