"Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Having reached the FCS playoffs for the first time last season, Albany and Stony Brook are ready for what some would say is an even tougher challenge.

CAA Football.

The two programs will join the CAA beginning in July 2013, commissioner Tom Yeager announced Tuesday.

This is certainly a momentous day for CAA Football," Yeager said. "The addition of Albany and Stony Brook bring playoff-tested programs from the Northeast into an already nationally prominent league."

Stony Brook, the 2011 Big South Conference champion, beat Albany, a 2011 Northeast Conference co-champion, in the FCS first round, 31-28, last year."

The same that they normally have but without the stripes.

Stony Brook didn't exactly belong in the Big South anyway. I mean, that would be the Huge South....

Stony Brook to WAC for all sports? Their name came up as a possible FBS school for either the MAC or the WAC. The WAC rumor is the most recent.

The WAC ran out of options since nobody from the big sky wanted to jump to FBS so they turned east. A lot of names came up but it's not going to happen. The WAC is dead after this year.

I would not say that to speak. Not all Big Sky schools did not say no because the WAC never gave them a look at. Eastern Washington and Weber State are interested in joining, but the WAC members and ex members turned their nose up at them, but they were more interested in Monatana, Montana State, Portland State, Sacramento State, Cal-Davis and Cal-Poly. If they can not get those schools? They can get these others out in the West and Central US that could bring more tv viewerships.

Weber State -Salt Lake City market
Eastern Washington- Spokane market
North Dakota State
South Dakota State
Lamar-Beaumont and Houston area market
Sam Houston State -Houston area market
Central Arkansas-Conway/Little Rock market
Colorado State-Pueblo-Colorado Springs/Pueblo market
Central Oklahoma-Edmond/Oklahoma City
Humboldt State-Las Angelas market
Western Oregon-Salem market
Stony Brook-New York City market
New Haven-New haven, Conn. tv market, and held over 22,000 fans for a game last year.
Georgia Southern-Savannah
Liberty
Delaware-Philidelphia
Jacksonville State
Appalachian State
James Madison
Youngstown State-Youngstown
Missouri State-Springfield
Jackson State-Jackson Mississippi, bigger tv market than the other FBS schools.
Alabama State-Montgomery
Florida A&M-Tallahassee
West Florida-Pensecola
Grand Canyon U.-Phoenix
Cal.-San Diego
Utah Valley

I added some D-2 schools which are untapped areas, and some non-football schools that are planning on adding football in the future.
