Actually, take it a step further. MWC and CUSA coming together while some are now quietly talking about XII and BE doing the same. It sounds as if they will be seperate conferences with some interplay while the big thing being the championship games between them. See it as a step toward a playoff by the conference wanting that while trying to put the heat on those that don't want it. Which side will the money be backing on this?

I don't really care for all this "superconference" stuff but if it does lead to a real, fair playoff system then perhaps it will be worthwhile. The number of games played is always brought up as an issue but I would gladly sacrifice one or even two games from the regular season to have an eight- or sixteen-team playoff. The non-playoff teams can then schedule all the bowl games they want to make up for lost revenue.
