I think people are up in arms because of the rest of the uniform. The helmet in a vacuum is fine for a one-off at Yankee Stadium, but the rest of the uniform should not be diluting the two strong brands together.

Maybe the other reason for the rather negative remarks is that the Notre Dame helmet is not gold?
