Facebook page with photos of Saint Leo's playing UCF in 1979. They dropped football back in 1981.
So, they are looking to bring back college football to the school.

Thanks, I looked into the St. Leo team a few months ago, and as best I could tell, they were always a club-level team, at least during the 1970s. I am uncertain about earlier decades.

"Saint Leo University (FL): Saint Leo has held a series of focus groups to begin the process of exploring of bringing football back, per the Hernando Sun. St. Leo currently competes in the Sunshine State Conference, which does not compete in football, but is exploring the option of moving to the D-II Gulf South Conference."


I found reference that they dropped the sport back in 1980. The time period they played was when they were still in D3 that offered no scholarships.
