Conference declined to kick them out.

Thanks, that was a peculiar story.

Looks like St. Thomas did get the boot since there are enough votes to boot them. They could go D2 in the Northern Sun.

This is a lingering issue that will be revisited on May 29th. I don't mean to suggest that previous decisions to take no action against the Tommies were the final word. The situation is fluid.

If St. Thomas moved up and Drake moved down, a nice little D-II conference could be formed with Missouri S&T, Truman, Rockhurst, Hillsdale, and ....(?)

The new conference would have the strongest academic profile in D-II, while staying competitive in all sports.

It would be interesting with Augustana announcing going to D1, Bellarmine (talked about adding football) going to D1 push, Southern Indiana to D1, Indianapolis looking for a new conference or join D1, Tarleton State to D1, Colorado Mesa may get the call up to D1, Augusta and Columbus State talking D1, Bentley and Southern New Hampshire rumored to follow Merrimack, LIU-Post merged with LIU-Brooklyn, Dixie State to D1, Rowan wants D1, Frostburg State to D2, UT-Tyler going to D2 and UT-Dallas looking to join D2. Plus, Texas A&M-San Antonio ramping up sports to join NAIA soon. We are seeing a lot of movement. Sadly, we may see schools with football closed their doors for good the next few years like what happened to Mt. Ida..

I guess this is why you don't run the score up?

LOL, there may be some running up of the score in 2019 and 2020, since St Thomas will still be in the conference until 2021.

This is an odd story and I can sympathize with both sides to some degree...six conference titles in eleven years is impressive, but I wonder how many Mount Union or Wisconsin-Whitewater have won during the same period?

Maybe the AFC East should vote the Patriots out ðŸ˜
