After looking on AP site's athletic page, I noticed that against SEMO the monocle was towards the front of the helmet, and against UCF it was towards the back.

After looking at the "B1" helmet for game 9 2018, they have them facing both ways as if they had left and right ones made and only placed them on the right side. Non-uniformity in 2010s, strange I hope the equipment guy did not have OCD.
