Thanks for mentioning this. I believe that that is a photograph from the 1984 season - I have one or two other photos for NC State from that year, and in all of them, all visible helmets have the wolf logo on both sides at the front of the helmet, so I suspect that may have been part of the "helmet design" as I define that term at the site, just for that one season.

I will mention that situation at the web site and see if other photographs can be found.
