Subject: Brigham Young/Nebraska/Iowa State

Dear Nameless,

Thank you very much for your tremendous effort in getting the huge number of FBS helmets updated.I'm sure this will help Charles. This is in no way a criticism but there are a couple of mistakes/omissions that I noted. Brigham Young wore a Stars & Stripes helmet on 9/11/14 vs. Houston. Also they used their matte black alternate helmet vs. UNLV on 11/15/2014. All the rest are " normal." Also, Nebraska used a helmet that was two thirds matte red with the lower one third gloss black. The N was black and the facemask also. This helmet & uniform was referred to as " Red Rising ". You indicated they used blue instead of black but they never used blue.Iowa State used two helmets this year ; one was the traditional gloss finish worn the past few years while the other was an identical copy except that it was a matte finish. They wore both of these for 6 games each. I hope this info is helpful. Thanks again for your work.

Thank you Steve for the corrections. I noticed sometimes that Mr. Arey may not make a difference between the glossy/shiny finish and the matte finish, but for teams like Iowa State and Missouri, the difference has to be made.

So here are the helmets that missed my go-around and are featured here:
Brigham Young's 09/11/14 helmet (patriotic logo): http://www.uhcougars.com/view.gal?id=165629
Brigham Young's 11/15/14 helmet (black matte shell, white oval, blue-white-blue stripes, black mask, already seen on site as the "10/13/12" helmet): http://www.unlvrebels.com/view.gal?id=169671
The Nebraska helmet from 9/27/14 was already (mis-)identified and reported with this link: http://www.fightingillini.com/view.gal?id=167214
And the corrected Iowa State order (A=shiny, B=matte): BAA-BAA-BAB-AAB. I count seven shiny and five matte however, which game is the anomaly?

I'll catch up with the bowl games in the master thread.

Nah, they don't have matte helmets, IS Moo dropped their helmets in a hog lot and didn't know how to wash them.
