Do you mean when I argued the merits of Casey Jacobsen vs. Lubos Barton? Or when I pointed out during the season that Raitis Grafs played himself out of the NBA draft? Or when Tim McCormick of ESPN called Valpo "The United Nations of the Mid-Con", something I referred to earlier? Or when I pointed out that Kenny Harris a summer ago didn't look like a Division I player and later we found out he was over 400 lbs? Or when I told you that you didn't have the resources or facilities that a mid-major like Gonzaga has so that you couldn't get to the Final 4 and then your favorite son, your coach-in-waiting, thought the same thing and bolted for an impossible-to-win-at job that pays better? You are right Terry, I really have something against Valpo that goes beyond politeness or common courtesy. You know what the difference is between Valpo and Oakland fans? Oakland fans are realistic about their team and their program, nobody talks about belonging in a higher league, getting to the Final 4, or putting ridiculous pressure on kids who haven't played a college game yet. They understand their place in college basketball's world. They won't be talking about getting a high seed in the NCAAs BEFORE the Mid-Con T'ment starts. It's their third year of actual D1 basketball and they're excited about some magazines picking them to win the league. They understand it's worthless once the season starts, so why not enjoy it in mid-October?
