I went to Middle School and High School with a guy who had the following credentials.

SAT score 1600
GPA 4.0
Second team all-state in Illinois

This guy was recruited by Knight and Indiana - and based on your arguments you would say he was the perfect fit for Knight and IU. He was a tough defensive player - intelligent, and gave it his all when he played (and you've probably seen him since he played elsewhere in the Big Ten).

So he goes down to IU for his official visit. He sees practice one time - and comes back stating, "why would I possibly want to put up with that?"
