Well, we had storms, but it was mostly SE Tulsa County that was in the path. Tulsa Co. is in kind of a plus shape. We're in the top part of the plus and the storms were more in the lower and right part of the plus shape. We had thunder, lightning and heavy rain, but no tornadoes here. The weathermen said the tornado sirens were going off in the city of Tulsa, but it wasn't for all of Tulsa, only the SE portion.

We didn't have a totally uneventful night, though. My son (he's 22 next week) woke me up (actually scared me to death!) about 1:15AM to tell me that my daughter (she's 20 on Mother's Day) thought she was "dying". She had been moaning with a bad pain in her right stomach area. My 1st thought was her appendix, but I always thought it was lower than where she was saying it hurt.
I guess he'd gone to the bathroom and heard her. He asked her what was wrong and she told him to get us. I had heard something, but I thought it was my husband wheezing or something and had went back to sleep. We wound up taking her to the hospital's emergency room.
They gave her an IV and pain medication, took blood and ran a CAT scan on her. They thought it might be her gall bladder or her appendix. Apparently, appendix pain can hurt up higher on the right, like she was showing us.
I've had my g.b. taken out and though her pain was in the same area, she didn't have any of the other symptoms that I did. The results said her g.b. was OK, and that her appendix was slightly "thickened", not bad, like it needed to come out, just "thickened". They said it could mean that she might be having the start of appendix problems or something else.
We got home about 5:15AM. We are to take her to her Dr. tomorrow for a follow-up check. They will check her white blood cell count again, which was slightly elevated this morning.

Of course, her last 2 college finals of this semester were to be today. She wrote her professors as soon as we got home and asked what to do about it. Only 1 has written her back about taking it tomorrow or Monday.
It's about an hour's drive to her school and with her taking the pain meds and not having any sleep, we didn't want her driving. I don't think it would be an accurate measure of what she has learned this semester, anyway, under the circumstances.
We have already made the Dr's appt, but until we hear back from the other teacher, we can't set anything else up with the 1st teacher, nor can we change the Dr's appt around the tests. So, we're playing the waiting game.
Hopefully, tonight we all can get some rest.
Patty

Hi Patty, sorry to hear that your daughter is sick I hope they
are able to do something to help her soon. What a pity it
happened at this time just when she needs a clear mind to sit
exams. What is she studying?
Happy Birthday to Her.

Thank you for your concern and birthday wishes for Heidi (our daughter), Bernadette!
We took her to her Dr.'s this morning and everything checked out fine, physically and through the bloodwork. I guess she just had an appendix attack that worked itself out. I still wonder if this is just the start of things for the future. We'll see how it goes and hope we don't ever have that again.

We finally heard from her teachers and they have agreed to let her take her tests consecutively on Monday morning! Yippee!!! I was just afraid they wouldn't let her take a makeup test at all and she would get NO points, which isn't fair to her. She has been working so hard to make the honor roll this semester and thought she might make it, then this happened on the last day! We just didn't know what to do, but there was no way she could have went in. The pain meds were knocking her out so she could rest, so there wasn't any way we were going to let her drive.

Heidi is studying psychology. I don't know what she plans to do with a psychology degree, but that's what she likes, so we'll see.

Thank you again!
Patty

Patty, that's good news all round.
I wish Heidi the best of luck with her psychology exams.

There were more storms/tornadoes in NE Oklahoma again tonight, but none near me. Just in case you were wondering.
Patty
