Other than you, Fay in Australia and Sue Pitchfork, I think of kangaroos, Steve Irwin, the phrase "down under" and Crocodile Dundee.

I also think of my kids' kindergarten teacher. She had an area of the classroom set aside for the kids who were in trouble. If they got in trouble, they had to "go to Australia". It separated them from the other kids till they could get out of trouble. LOL!!!

Are you doing some sort of project?
Patty

Thanks Patty. Yes I am trying to come up with some new designs. If anything else comes to mind please add it.

Does the teacher send the troublesome kids to Australia
because it is far away or because of the convict history?

An Aussie accent - love it! The man from Snowy River. Ayers Rock. Aboriginal art - lots of dots. The Outback. The unique animal life - kangaroos, wallabys, platypus, koalas, dingoes, saltie, kookaburra, goanna, wallaroos, wombats, tasmanian devils, etc. Sorry if I misspell them but words like: billabong, didgeridoo, brumby, walkabout, tucker, G'Day, mate, etc.

When I think of Austrailia, a picture I saw always comes to mind. It was of a wonderful older aboriginal man blowing into his didgeridoo. You can just hear the music coming out of it. Wide open space of dry land with sheep. I also think of my artists friends that I have made on various Ebay groups. (and of course the wide range of animals that are only there including emu whose eggs I love to carve on) :) Austrailia is definitely on my bucket list of things to see one day :) Good luck with your project.

I forgot to add the Great Barrier Reef - lots of possibilities there.

LOL, Bernadette!!! It's because Australia is so far away! Believe me, Oklahoma has our fair share of convicts, so that would not be the reason.
Oh, Jazbo, I forgot about "The Man from Snowy River". I love that movie.

Thanks, what a wonderful response.
Yes I did mean anything and everything. You just never know what will trigger something in this brain of mine.

Jazbo, I have not been to the Great Barrier Reef as yet but I have been to Ayers rock, it was amazing. The
feeling of the place got to me as much as the magnificent sight.

Lee, I hope you do get to visit. As an artist there is so much here for you.

Patty, I will add convicts to the list. BTW Crocodile Dundee is just a smidgen over the top. lol

Ok Julie, what do you recon?

Bernadette
