Subject: OT: More Oklahoma Storms

We are having a weekend full of storms this weekend. Just rain and thunder yesterday and today heavy, flooding rain, lightning, thunder, up to tennis ball-sized hail and REALLY (60-80 MPH!) strong winds, but no tornadoes (yet), thankfully!!! Two storm chasers from a TV channel in Tulsa had their windshields broken out from hail this morning while they were out storm chasing.

My Mom, Dad, younger sister's kids, older sister and her family and younger brother and his family were at a family reunion this weekend at an OK lake. I kept calling them to let them know about the storms because they were in an area that doesn't get good TV and cell phone reception, so they didn't know about the storms coming at them. Sometimes I could get them on their cell phones, sometimes I couldn't. This morning, I wanted to let them know that they were about to drive into the bad part when they were coming home. Mom and Dad had already left and have no cell phone, so I couldn't warn them. My sister said they didn't know anything about it.

I got a call from my older sister's daughter, who had stayed home with her younger sister, asking me to check the weather where they live. I think she was a little worried as her younger sister had just left for work. She lives about an hour from here and their satellite had gone out because of the storm, so she didn't know if there was a tornado or not. She said it was flooding in front of their house (and it never had before) and the wind was horrible. She said the water was 1/2 way up her sister's tires when she left for work. But by then they were almost out of it.

I just got a call from my Mom that they had made it home and had run into the wind and heavy rain on the way home. I haven't heard from my sister or brother yet.

Just wanted to let everyone here know that everything is OK with me, in case you hear about more storms coming through here on the news.

P.S. We have a basket raffle to raise funds for the next reunion and guess what? I won OUR basket!!! I sent money with my Mom for tickets and I won the Patriotic Basket that my Mom's part of the family had put together! I'm so excited as I don't usually win anything! Each of my Mom's siblings' families bring a themed basket and they raffle them off to pay for the next reunion. I'm so happy!!!
