Subject: 12 days

I made the 12 days of Christmas box one year for my grandchildren and they loved it. So another year they were getting a new tree and had no ornies so I did a 12 days of Christmas box but with ornies and tinsel etc with lollies mixed in too they loved it. I want to do another one this year but can't think of something new. Any ideas anyone? Please.

I am making my adult daughter the 25 days until Christmas which I do every year. This year I am making Santa Suit boxes like matchboxes, only about the size of a pack of ciggies. The boxes are from red cardstock, white down the front of the suit, black belt, buckle is a pull tab from a pop can. The boxes are numbered from 1-25. I don't know the ages of your grandkids, but stickers, erasers, crayons, gummy candies, nuggets, chapstick, purse-sized tissues, hair barrettes, scrunchies, toy cars for boys, small games, gift cards, money, card games, etc.

Meryl, how old are they? and how many would you be doing this for?

A few ideas
Lacing cards, could be Christmas related if you want
Mini Scrap books with photos for each day
Craft kit to make decorations, cards, jewellery, bookmarks
Layered jars – will work well even with a few children. They could make a different goodie for Christmas each day……anything from ginger breads to very simple things like chocolate dipped snakes, pretzels, candy cane hearts etc

Hi Thank you so much for the ideas I will be keeping them all, they were all terrific ideas, what I don't use this year I will save for following years. Thanks again.
The children are 10, 7 and 4.

Meryl, are you the Meryl who did a swap with us many, many years ago?
All the Aussie girls were finding it too expensive (postal wise) to join in all the swaps so we did our own Christmas ornament swap.
I still have them all and they go on my tree each year.

Fay, who visits here, made the angel magnet. It is still on my fridge.
Deb made a calico stocking which she painted on.
Marina painted a wooden stocking
I made the Bottlebrush angel because I love the bottlebrush plant....... and
Meryl made a crochet bell.
I do love that bell it is so lacy and elegant.
I later found a whole set of crochet wedding favours in one of my craft books and every time I see them I am reminded of the bell.

Aaaaahhh memories.
