Subject: Paper Scrap Angels Designed by Jazz

Jazz has been super busy creating scrap angels – this time they are paper. She asked me to pick one set of pictures and post one but they’re all so creative that I decided we should see them all. The descriptions all come from Jazz. Enjoy - I sure did! Thanks for sharing Bonnie. You are amazing!

I have been playing with scrap angels, but out of paper this time. there will be 5 sets. would you mind posting the one of your choice, on the crafts sites? I will write an explanation with each page.

top left: the wings are made from wire-edged craft ribbon, with the wire removed.
top right: feather wings
middle left: her wings are made of a paper bow.
middle right: maple leaf wings
bottom left: oak leaf body
bottom center: the ribbon is glued to a paper circle that is folded in half. she has arms that are a loose knot & dangly ribbon legs.
bottom right: bee, using an egg punch as the body.

some of the heads are punched from business envelopes - free paper.
the bodies are circles folded over. if it wasn't 2-sided paper, I just cut a section to glue down before I glued the 'dress' flaps down.

This is my favorite page. I adore the little angel top left. maybe it is the jaunty way its hat sits on the head.

top left: could be for new year's or as a party invite. just include party message/info inside the folded wings. the clock hands are made with a punch. or if the info was known, set the hands for the time when the recipient was born.
top right: snow angel.
center: flying heart for Valentine's day
middle left: body is made from 2 punched mittens, with one reversed. face is a button.
center right: one for St. Pat's
middle: Easter angel, body is made with an egg punch
bottom left: spring angel, with a flower as the body
center bottom: this is a pennant for a garland. letters can be punched, stamped or written on them to spell out greetings, etc.
bottom right: fall/halloween angel

More ideas:
Legs: cut 2, 3" pf 1/4" ribbon, Tie a know, 1/2" from one end of each piece. Glue ends between dress pieces.

Hair:
- wrap embroidery floss, crochet thread, etc., several times around 2 fingers. Slip wraps off & with a separate piece, tie in the middle. Glue to top of head.

Bows: (can be made from)
- punched
- ribbon
- baker's twine
- embroidery floss
- raffia
- rickrack
- torn fabric strip
- burlap threads
- gold braid

Heads:
- punched
- buttons
- jewels
- glass pebbles
- large sequins
- coins

Halos:
- punched, using gold or silver Christmas card backs
- glitter pipe cleaners
- rings from the bridal section
- lace scallops
- punched crowns

Embellishments:
- ribbon roses
- ribbon bows
- stickers
- small flowers
- ribbon arms & legs
- jewels

Cone angel: cut a circle in half, & roll into a cone shape. Add head, etc.

Wings:
- punched or cut circles
- small paper coilies
- shapes: stars, leaves, etc.
- ribbon bows
- paper bows
- feathers
- craft ribbon

Paper sources:
- scrapbook paper
- envelopes
- greeting cards
- Christmas cards
- paper doilies
- book pages
- magazines
- junk mail
- calendars
- tissue boxes
- brown bags
- paint chips
- sheet music
- maps
- food labels

As you can see, I think the paper angels have more possibilities for tags, invites, little messages to slip into a card or letter, as thank you notes, etc.

I would be interested in seeing what others come up with. (((hugs)))

I got a little carried away.
top left: patriotic angel
center: this is for a birthday angel. put the number of dots for how old the person is. in this case the person was 2/6 or 26. it has folded wings so a short message can be written inside.
top right: wings are a folded 4" paper doily
middle left: ginger angel
center: leaf punches for a fall angel
middle right: playing card angle
bottom angel: simple angel
bottom right: wings made with a wing punch & glitter pipe cleaner halo

I tried posting Bonnie's other two pages of paper scrap angels with my first post but Captsha identified me as a spammer so I guess it was too much in a single post. Here they are. It's hard to name a favorite on these 5 pages of angels!

these are mostly winter angels, using different punches for wings.
some crowns are made with a lace border punch & cut into sections.

more playing around. the one with a tag body can be used as a gift tag.

3rd row: flying angel - just fold the wings off a little to give the illusion of flying.

they can be glued to ribbon, etc., for a sweet garland.

the one at the bottom is glued to a craft stick, to use as a bookmark.

Caroline, thank you so much for posting all of that. you know me - I get carried away sometimes. I have my favorites, but it was a process of experimentation. I really like working with paper because it is more versatile. You can fold it, stamp it, punch it, etc. To think all the scrapangel things began with a simple fabric one from Cathy in Montana.

And thanks for all the kind comments. I hope you all have fun with them, too. (((hugs)))

Thank you for sharing. I saved them on pinterest! I plan to work with them onto cards that I do for a church ministry each month. Bless you for sharing so much of your creativity.
