Subject: Need some suggestions of what to put in this...

My sister-in-law collects John Deere things. I found a cute, little JD miniature, metal tool box this morning at our church's garage sale. It's, of course, JD green with a gray plastic handle that looks like a wrench. The handle folds down flat on the top. It has tractor and farmer pictures on it. It's about 9" long, 5" high and 4" wide. Here's a link to one just like it on Ebay:

Her birthday is coming up in August and I want to put something in this little tool box to give her for her birthday. What could I put in it? I was thinking that maybe I could find some green general-type tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench, flashlight, etc) or something, but what?

I know our Atwood's has a lot of JD things.

Please give me some ideas, even if they aren't tool-related. She's crafty, too. What could I put in it for her?
Thanks for any ideas!
Patty

Neat idea. I would go a whole different way: "nothing runs like a deer". I would include deer poop, hunter's gag gift, deer stuff (magnets, figurine, key ring, etc). For my 'dear' SIL. *wink*

Hi Patty,
My thought was if your SIL was a farm girl growing up maybe pictures or copies of pictures of her around Tractors with family at a young age? but this might be hard to come up with being a SIL! Put picture inside lid?
You might look on a website offering ladies tool kits I have seen some ads Pink handles for ladies I remember and just see what is offered in the tool kit?
Sorry not much help!

Oh, thanks for the GREAT ideas, Ladies!

I hadn't even thought of the "deer" connection, Jazz! My brother(her husband) and their 2 teenaged sons are all big deer hunters and get at least 1 each per year!!!

Darlene, I worked with her Mom before I worked with her, so I don't think I would have any problem getting any pictures from her Mom. She's a country girl, but her Dad raised roosters. She also wore braided pigtails most of her childhood! That picture would be cute in it, wouldn't it? LOL!!!

Julie, a sewing box would be good, too! Will start looking for green/yellow handled sewing scissors, notions and tools.

I'm not sure exactly what I'll do, but I do really like all of these ideas...may just add a mixture of all of them!!! I've got a little while till her birthday.

I knew I could count on you all to help me come up with some ideas! Why is it that I can come up with ideas for other people, but when I need an idea for myself, I'm blank!!!

Thanks again, Ladies!
Patty
