Subject: YoYo Ornament

I did see a YoYo Ornament at the show Sunday for $10.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a ball with tiny yoyo`s glued all over it.They were really pretty but 10.00 ????

Julie, I'm being nosey but what do you think the ornament should be worth?

How do you decide how to price your items?

The ornament was really pretty ! I just can`t see anyone giving 10.00 for an ornament.
I price mine as to what I would pay.People have looked at my booth said they would be back , went and looked thru the show and came back to my booth and bought from me because my prices are good.
If there`s a lady with fleece blankets for 45.00 and one up the row with them for 20, who are you gonna buy from ?
Sometimes going thru the show and I know everyone does it,
you see something and know how it`s made or what it takes to make one , then see this huge price.Oh I can make that !!!
What I can not stand is when they are in the booth and say " Oh, I can make that , Don`t pay fro that !!! I will make you one ! I usually say well you won`t be able to make it for my price done !
People work hard for there items, everyone is doing it for the same reason, to make a little money.Befor you could do the 3x`s markup, it was a different economy back then.
I would rather make a little money than no money.

Thanks Julie, I was wondering how to price items? So maybe at this time it would be wise to price things around 1.5 times more than the cost of the materials? Did that make sense? How do you store items as you make them so that they don't crush other items, break, or what ever? You know stay fresh...Do you wait to buy materials on sale or what.

Next bazaar season I want to give a find of mine a few items to sell for me at her tables...and see if they are sale-able or if I'm dreaming. I was thinking of making 10 to 20 of the same thing, and making only 10 items. Does that seem like a pausable plan? How do you decide what to make?
