My basic stew. Amounts don't matter.

lamb shanks are best or beef
onions
carrots
green beans
potatoes
any other vegetables you want to add
few whole pepper corns
salt
water
worcestershire sauce
1 green chilli whole (optional)
thicken with a little flour.

Hi, I make a stew that is pretty good.

2# Stewing Beef
5 or 6 Beef Bullion Cubes
1 or 2 onions quartered
2 stalks of celery cut up (that's just two from a large head)
I also like to add a can of diced tomatoes, but that's
optional.
Cover with water and let it simmer.
In the meantime, get your veggies cleaned, peeled,
and cut up.
5 or 6 carrots cut-up
About 1/2 pound or 1/4 pound fresh green beans
5 white potatoes, in large cubes.

I add the carrots and green beans after about 1/2
hour, and when they are almost done, I add the potatoes,
Don't want the potatoes to get mushy.

If you like, you can add small can of peas, and
a small can of corn, and you can use a can of cut-up
green beans instead of the fresh. The can veggies go
in last, more or less to just heat them through.

And at the very end, I add two packets of brown gravy
mix.
Of course, you have to add water during the cooking
process.
Season as you go with salt, pepper and garlic.(To your taste)

Here is mine
Football Stew

2lbs stew meat, raw, not browned
1 bag of mixed vegis
1 sm. onion
2 or 3 med potatoes
1 c. tomato juice
1 1/2 t. sugar
2 t. salt
2 T. quick cooking tapioca

Combine meat and vegi's in 9 x 13 pan. Combine tomato juice, sugar, salt and tapioca and pour over meat and vegi's. Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake in preheated 250° oven for 4 hours. Can be prepared in crockpot at low heat for 10 to 12 hours. I added some potato flakes when I took it out of the oven as I thought it was a little juicy. That was just my opinion. This may be frozen. This is good and so easy.
Linda
