Hi, I called Linda last night, and she has been pretty busy...Ivan came home the other night, and had a restless night......His day went well...I don't know how he did last night however, hopefully better...
Linda may not be on the puter too much for a while, she's really busy with hubby, adjusting and getting into a new routine.....It's gonna be a tough time for them for awhile, so keep them in your prayers
Julie, you're doing a great job on this forum...I used to post here when Carol first opened it....I used to lurk on that Home Site and saw she was opening up a forum here, and got over my shyness and started posting...(Under a different name)...(Now I have my own forum...lol)..
Again, Keep Linda and Ivan in your prayers...carol

Thanks Carol for coming here from your forum (and I hope you return often) and posting an update. Julie, things have been hectic. Carol has kept contact with me via email and phone. Ivan is improving, slowly. The nurse wants him kept awake all day and walking, so he is tired and will sleep all night. Trouble is, he is a man and it has to be a "man" thing that when they sit down, especially in front of the tv, they fall asleep, then I have to yell "Wakey, Wakey". LOL I kept him awake all day yesterday and we both got a good night's sleep. I looked in the mirror this morning and the bags under my eyes look like I am packing for a trip. LOL I'm sleeping on the couch to be close to him in his recliner or the daybed in the solarium, so I am not sleeping the greatest as I would in my own bed. I've made myself a chart to keep track of all the meds, times given, etc. Yesterday a niece and her hubby came. He stayed with Ivan and she got me out of the house to get to the bank, some stores, and to get my nails done which were waaaaayyyyy too long. The first two nights he was home, Mimi (Judy) from Carol's and Ginger's Crafting Heaven came and stayed with us. I had never met her in person, but she was a godsend. Judy keeps contact via phone daily to check on Ivan. Tell me that crafters aren't the most wonderful, caring people in our world. They most definitely are. Judy sure was, to do this for total strangers. Her hubby thought she was looney. LOL

It's so nice to see an update Linda, I am so happy you have help, wish I lived closer : )

Last night (Mon. Feb. 18) was Ivan's first night of really good sleep without any of the horrible hallucinations/nightmares he has been having where he talks all night long. He was quiet except for an occasional cough, and woke up free of anxiety this morning...not quite "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed" LOL but certainly much improved from all prior mornings. I just pray this continues. He's bored....not able to "do" things like drive or go fill the bird feeders.

Ivan is sleeping pretty good, as I am keeping him awake all day....no more cat-napping allowed. The panic attacks are the worst thing right now. The hospital had decreased his Paxil down to only 10 mg. and he HAD been on 30 mg. for quite a while prior to his surgery. The family doctor okayed upping it to 20 mg. but that is just not enough, so today I let him have the 30 mg. I'm sure Ivan will feel better once he can get outside and start walking and doing things, but it has been cold, windy and rainy, so that has been impossible to do. Then the visiting nurse we had on Wed. really had us both upset. IF she is the one coming today, I am ready for her. She will NOT be pulling any crap today. I will throw her out that door.

Glad to hear things are getting better.I have heard about nasty nurses that come for the home visits.Hang in there, I know it`s rough...We are not given more than we can handle.

A man called from the visiting nurses to see if we were satisfied....NO....I got my chance to tell him about that one nurse and he said he will make note of that to her supervisor. We were supposed to have TWO visitis this week and didn't. They better NOT be charging our insurance. I'm getting very discusted. This man tells me someone will come "every other Tuesday", but that is not what is written on the book we were given....it shows one visit a week through the second week of April. Somebody is not getting their stories straight.
