Subject: Sorry, I have been MIA!!! :(

I just wanted to let you all know that I AM still alive! This is the short version!
My Dad, who's 87, had surgery the day after Easter, had problems, then, pulled something apart from the surgery, got VERY ill and weak as it was leaking inside him, had a 2nd surgery 5 days later to repair problem, was in the hospital 2 weeks, still weak and hardly able to walk. He lived on ice chips and IV's for most of the 2 weeks! Got released from the hospital to another hospital facility 2 days ago for them to rebuild his strength and appetite and to help him learn how to care for his wound. AND, my Mom, who's 83, is staying at our house till my Dad gets out of the 2nd hospital. Dad COULD be there most, if not all, of this month. Our daughter is graduating with her Master's degree on Monday. Her birthday is Sunday, Mother's Day and our son's birthday is the 14th. Our daughter interviewed for a job Monday and got called yesterday that she got the job in the city she wanted. YEA!!! Dad always paid all the bills, etc, so now, we are trying to keep Mom up on their bills, etc. We found Dad a hospital bed for their house, got it and set it up for when he comes home. UGH!!! Things have been so emotionally up and down for the last 3 weeks! Please continue to pray for all of us, including my sanity!!! Thank you and I will be back when things settle down, hopefully ASAP!!! :)
Patty

Oh Patty, bless your heart ! You have so much on your plate-- no wonder you haven't had time to visit here much. I will remember you all in my prayers. I am so happy for your daughter. Our grand daughter just graduated from nursing school last weekend and has a job when she get her certification.
Hope things calm down soon for you and your Dad gets up on his feet and they can be together again soon.

I'm sure at times you wish you could be triplets since you have your dad, your mom, and your kids to all take care of, but I know you are doing a great job. Just be sure to take care of yourself too. Keeping you all in prayers.

Thank you, Ladies, for the prayers and nice comments! Dad is still in the long term acute care hospital. He isn't eating much, so he hasn't regained much of his strength. They have been walking him a little bit, but it tires him out a lot.
Mom is still here at my house, too.
Made it through Mother's Day, our daughter's and son's birthdays AND our daughter's graduation!!! Just need to plan a small graduation party on Saturday for her. THEN, maybe things will slow down a bit. Sure hope so!
WAS going to a family reunion the 30th through the 1st, but the state park, more or less, cancelled our reservations, so that is out for us. I think Mom is still planning to go as it's for her family and she didn't get to go last year (she had pneumonia). BUT, it also depends when and if Dad gets out of the hospital around that time. WE will still be here and could stay with Dad, if he's home, but Mom has asked my younger sister if she would stay with Dad while Mom was at the reunion. Dad wants Mom to go to her reunion even if he's home. Both my sisters live about an hour from here in opposite directions.

For the most part, we're doing OK, just a little crazy and crazy busy at times! Keep the prayers coming and thank you again!
Patty
