Subject: Poison ivy remedy

Already DH had poison ivy. He was doing some work on our property & got it on both arms. So he complaining to a neighbor, one of the last of real cowboys. The neighbor told DH to rub raw egg whites on the affected areas. It worked! Took the itch away & dried it all up. Something to file away for future use. (((hugs)))

I hope I can remember the egg whites treatment. I've always used garlic juice. Open the blisters, soak up any liquid with a tissue, then apply the garlic juice. Burns like crazy, but stops the itching and dries it up.

When first exposed to poison ivy, wash thorough with Fels Naptha soap. Wash clothes too.
