Subject: OT: UGH!!! It's getting hot and humid here in OK!

It has gotten to a high of 94* here in the Tulsa area for the last 3 days in a row with a heat index of 102*. It's so humid, too!!! And it's supposed to get to 96* today!
Today when I got up with my son at 5AM, it was already 79*!!! Gonna be another hot one! We have a small chance of rain tomorrow night into Sat.
How is the weather where you live?

I know (approx) where some of the other Voy CEF friends live around the country and I always watch the US map to see what kind of weather you're having, too.

Bernadette, how is the weather in Australia? They don't show that map much around here.

In case you're wondering, hot and humid are still better than snow and ice to me! I'm NOT a Winter person at all! LOL!!! I'd take this year round, rather than snow/ice! But, my favorite season is Spring. When's your favorite season?
Patty

Hi Patty ! Rain & more rain...the humidity is up also. I can take the heat but the humidity drains me . We don`t have central airconditioning , using fans at the moment. I would be in the pool if it was`nt raining.
My favorite time of the year is fall. The colors the smell of raked leaves not that I want to rake ! lol...I love the fall mums ,pumpkins & gourds. It`s warm but not hot and the evenings are cool.
I love the first snowfall but not the cold.

Hot and humid here also. So far around 90 to 93 is the high and rain at night. The rain is just to make it more humid. I also with take the hot over snow and ice anytime. Hate that stuff. We do have air conditioning but no swimming pool. You all have a nice summer.

Patty,
I live in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains - north of Yosemite in California. We have been having some HOT days too. Tmr. will near the 100 mark! In our part of the country we use swamp coolers. AC in these hills would be expensive. Of course the coolers don't do much good when it gets humid. Fortunately we don't have too many of those days.

We can cool off in a lake right around the corner from me ot travel up the hill for cooler weather and more lakes. How wonderful is that? (smile)

My favorite season is fall...:O) I love the weather, sites, smells, colors, etc. By the time August comes I'll be looking forward to fall.

Hugs,
Connie Gail

I'm sorry to say, our heat and humidity here is about the same as OK....should be around 101 today w/ high humidity. I don't get much pleasure outside once noon comes around. We haven't had any rain either in so long, I'm afraid to let my grands outside for fear they will fall into the cracks in the ground....never to be seen or heard from again...lol. Give me Winter any day. I can always put more on, but can't take it off...lol. Hugs all, Kathy

Although the weathermen on TV like to say that we are "down 4 inches" for the year, we are having an awful lot of rain. We must have missed some snow last winter. North of us in Pittsburgh they had some bad flooding recently but our rain is more constant and not as heavy. It is still cool for this time of year with a lot of days in the seventies. Vegetable gardens are looking good from all the rain. If we get enough sunshine the tomatoes, etc., should be early this year.
Guess summer is my favorite season since I enjoy all the annual and perennial flowers that I love to grow. I like to ride the mower and dig in the dirt!

Hot & humid here, too. We have ground water you can't drink & humidity you can. hahahaha and this is only June. *sigh*

I'm with Connie Gail & jewels - I love fall: the cooler temps, the falling leaves, the bare trees, the acrid smell of burning leaves, the riotous colors, wedges of geese honking high overhead, the brilliant blue skies.

But then, I enjoy each season as it comes. We are blessed to have all 4, living in the Ozarks. When we lived in Utah, we had 2 seasons: winter & July. (((hugs)))

In Melbourne each day, your guess would be as good as mine.
2 weeks ago it was fog, lots of rain and early snow ( not here but where it should snow), then a few sunny but cool days.
Most days are.....Cold, dull, grey, foggy.
Yesterday it was beautiful sunshine and quite warm. I did not light the fire and the children were all in t shirts.
Today ......cold and grey and the rain started 10 minutes after I hung the wash outside. I have the fire started.

Winter is the only season I don't like. I hunch up so much with the cold that my neck and shoulders always ache.
Spring has so much new life and colour in the garden and the promise of warmth.
Summer is great except for when temperatures reach the 40'sC and stay there for a few days in a row.
Autumn is just gorgeous with the colours and warmth.
Stay cool ladies.

Bernadette
