Tony tells us he's the expert and he's at the game and knows all.

He walks out like many of the Siena faithful winning or losing to beat the traffic in that booming metropolis of Albany.

He therefore has no feel for what happens in his game at crunch time he's happy because he beat the traffic while he didn't see the game he is an expert on.
