None of your arguments are at all based on logic!!!
How can you respect a coach that needs to suspend players, but then let's him play, in order to get the player to focus on academics?!?!? A GOOD coach would NOT have to suspend his players for not going to class. I know coaches at Canisius and other schools that actually walk the halls during breaks and see if their students are around and check up on their attendance. They clearly do not need to use suspensions as motivation.
I do not like to kill college athletes as I am currently living with three, I merely aim to kill illogical and senseless arguments made by delusional and asinine fans such as yourself, as I am sure many on this board would agree. You make blanket statements about things but offer no proof on any statement you make. I.e. recruiting over PSU or Temple is NOT an achievement, because the schools have horrible basketball programs. They are in these power conferences because they achieve in other sports. i.e. if SPC could recruit a player away from Dayton in football it wouldn't really be that much of an achievement compared to stealing a BASKETBALL recruit away from the school.

As for MAACs last year, Fran and the Saints DID actually choke against NU, I know because I was actually watching the game and cheering against NU, our rivals and FOR Siena. Siena made only one field goal in the last 2 minutes and I believe that was at the end of the game. Fischer, Haddix, and Moore all had opportunities to make a big shot, and failed.

As for Siena fans, and this "hating:" I have no doubt other schools' fans can support the ones that support the team and have reasonable views on the past and potential success of their program, but saying your coach is "the man" without proof (championships or wins against quality opponents) is like saying the TUC is full when in reality the arena is mostly covered in tarp.

Lastly, and most importantly, I am in NO way a closet hater. Nor are the people on this board. My screen name is a CLEAR reference to Canisius, as most fans would recognize. The only reason why I began posting on this board is fans like you who were attempting to diminish the support and talent our school has. Don't be surprised when Fran is working as director of basketball operations for Coach P. or another MAAC coach with REAL coaching ability five years from now.

Fran himself said the kid wasn't doing what he was suppose to do and that Fran had reached his limit.

If Fran was fed up with the kid not going to class or handing in work what's going on at Siena that the kid is still passing his courses.

Do the professors believe in taking care of their hoopsters by holding them to a different standard?

There must be alot of courses to keep guys like AJ who played 4 years and is still well over a semester away from graduation and now Ubiles NCAA eligible?

Fran is taking care of #1 (himself) making sure he has Edwin for the season.

There is one thing you can be certain about. The MAAC board is still a controlled board where favorites are tolerated and others not. Try responding to these inane comments about a team and you get edited as baiting, while the original baiter keeps his post up there. Even your own Golden Griffin is just as stupid as the others with his comments on other teams.

No problem putting CC, SPC in the basement as they have to depend on freshman, but take a shot at the school like Iona or now Marist with their unproven new players and you have no foundation. Siena has not exactly been clean when it comes to academic leeway but try mentioning that. Hell the current Ubiles fiasco shows how shallow Fran really is. When push comes to shove, he caves. Not sure what his worry is, Siena Profs will insure Ubiles gets passing grades.

If there is one thing the MAAC board has, is the largest group of self absorbed know little MAAC fans. They hardly know their own team but just love to call the others garbage with out any knowledge. What they fail to comprehend is that MAAC is so fragile that single digit win teams can rise to the top with only the addition of a few decent players. Siena has proven it and they think it is because they are that good. Very easy to be good in the MAAC and this year will also provide a few surprise versus these chalk picks.

However, the season starts and their will be bums out there and some showing promise. Watch how the so called elite squirm when they don't get it done, much like the abysmal failure of Marist last season when they were considered a lock pre-season and beaten by a hockey team.

Pres. Petey you are missing the boat. You spend all your time and energy killing Siena and spend little or no time promoting your team. I don't try to diminish what other programs are doing - I just like to suppport my team. I also enjoy messing with fools like you who get so bent out of shape for me promoting "Fran the Man". You are just too easy to f%#k with, start promoting your school and the direction Coach P. has them going and stop with the "hating" it seems like you have some level of intelligence - so stop biting on the bait so hard! LOL

As for promoting the school, I do plenty of that on-campus.

Proving to you that Fran is indeed the Man would be like teaching a blind man to see. It is not going to happen because you refuse to recognize the fact that he has turned a 6-24 team around in a short period of time and has put together a team that should be in the hunt for a MAAC Championship. If Coach P turns Canisius around in similar fashion I will be the first one on this board to recognize his success. If you didn't live through the Lanier years you wouldn't understand. I am sure the Griff fans had the same feelings about McDonald at the end. Again another guy who I had no trouble rooting for. The Saints are my team, but I still root for the MAAC teams to be successful. In the end the more successful our teams are the better for the future of all of our programs. So in closing - in my opinion - Fran is the Man!
