Albany's success does nothing for Siena. Would a Yankees fan root for the Mets in the world series?

It makes them less attractive of an option.

That's already been mentioned a couple of times on the Siena board - even though the AE has been the better conference in two of the las three years.

the maac is a much better league top to bottom, that cannot be denied and the leagues will flip flop spots again very soon, so what's the big deal.

But not by much. MAAC and the AE are peer conferences. MAAC has been weak of late, next year should be more of a normal year in terms of RPI for the MAAC - 16-18.

The trend is definitely up for the AE and down for the MAAC. U.Albany, to site the best example, has the money to spend and will certainly surpass anything the MAAC has to offer in the years ahead.

The MAAC, by design, will continue at the level they have chosen and can afford. This is the reality of major college basketball where money speaks for what is accomplished.

The AE was a two team league this year with a 20 RPI, the MAAC had two of the worst teams in DI - IJC and SPC - dragging down its 23rd RPI.

The MAAC has some nice new coaches and some very solid recruits that bodes well into the future. And I don't see Albany's recruits listed on Duke's recruiting websites unlike Justin Robinson who is headed to RIDER.

I must be a Mental Giant.

I can realize.....

the AE had two sub 100 RPI Teams and 0 300+ RPI Teams

the MAAC had 0 sub 100 RPI Teams and 2 300+ RPI Teams

Conslusion the AE was stronger on the top and MAAC was weker on the bottom

That's a win win for the AE - The AE was better this year, just like the RPI says.

Get over it next year we'll see what happens?????

You play in a suckie conference that should have no bid.

Back to Back NCAA Tourneys and nearly a big time upset last year means they will continue to outrecruit Siennnnnna. Watch how fast your team falls and how average your recruits will turn out to be with Haddix gone.

[> hey Raver, when will Rider start recruiting -- won't matter, Dempsey = Lanier, anyway, 10:32:43 03/12/07 Mon

and fyi, Siena has a nice cupboard of talent, they will be just fine and I think Albany will be ok, but when you lose the best player in their history, they slip a little.
