According to the report in the Daily News, Willard's contract is for $210,000.00 per year. This puts him a or near the top of the ladder in salary for MAAC coaches. Here is a 32 year old with no head coaching experience on any level whatsoever and Iona is willing to pay that kind of money 1 week after having paid out $1.2 million to Jeff.
I think this fact speaks quite well about Iona's intentions and dedication to pursuit of excellence!

We have to get rid of all that money we made in the student loan kickback scandal that Atty General Cuomo is investigating us for. No seriously, we had to overpay because Willard was being hotly pursued by....., oh, never mind. But really, the more we pay, the better coach he'll be. No, that doesn't make sense either. Ok, try this - if we pay him that much he'll be able to afford the good stuff that doesn't show up in a breathalizer ?
