Subject: The Siena fanbase is showing its age....and old-man selfishness.

I love the fact that Siena is going out of its way to create a better atmosphere at the TUC. It's going to make such a big difference that they will be saying "we should have done this 5 years ago".

However, 75% of that board is complaining about a minimal inconvenience to themselves, rather than realize what is best for the program.

I'm surprised they're not calling for a Depends dispenser...

As long as the move is ADA compliant.

Or will they open up the curtain when demand is there?

What about the UAlbany game, for instance?

Putting somnambulant fans closer to the action ain't gonna improve the atmosphere.

It's either back to campus or the mausoleum environment continues.

I guess I just don't know... are the returns from playing downtown so high that it's worth putting any perpetual student interest in the basketball program completely on ice? I saw a post a while back over there that "this season ticket holder won't renew" over the curtains. I guess they don't mind that they are slowly taking the word "college" out of the "small college basketball program."

I imagine the entire Siena basketball fan base dead in twenty years and no new base developed.

Or so it seems - here I am, under 40 and a dinosaur already.
