Go smoke some crack. Neither team is unbeatable nor "The Class". Tourney is up for grabs this year. Unlike previous years with MC and Iona dominating the league this one is wide open. Neither team has shown the signs of dominance. To be the CLASS of the league you do not lose to 5th-8th placed teams.

There are not two other teams in the MAAC capable of the show we saw today.

And yes loser, the tournament still remains wide open. You obviously don't know shit!

...despite all of the things wrong with it.

Not one of the contenders will be a metro school.

Sure, wide open but I think the championship belongs to Marist, Loyola or Siena. I think the odds drop off steeply after that. Siena would need someone else to ditch Marist I'm afraid, I almost feel like the Red Sox before the unthinkable happened.

one more foul shot made in regulation, Siena wins. It was that close and Siena knows it. They also know they obviously can play with Marist, a team loaded with upperclassman.

Pray for Siena to finish 2nd. Really want a Marist/Siena final and so does Siena.

Siena has a young club that has been good enough to experience having a nemesis slam the door shut. I feel like a third time wouldn't be the charm, but if it were to happen it could be one hell of a coup for a group that should be an upper-tier resident for a few years.

Another thing, not sure from some of the media clips I read that earlier in the season the Siena bunch respected the Marist bunch as much as it should have. Maybe they understand basketball a little better now...

Saints won 8 of their last 11.

6-0 vs 290+RPI teams

0-3 vs sub 200RPI teams enough said.

Fairfield's RPI is < 200 (and has been for a couple of weeks). Do you even look up your "stats" before posting them?

MaacGruff your the idiot. Get back in your trailer up in Loudenville. There have been about a dozen great games like this in the MAAC this year. Some that come to mind other than the Siena-Marist are Loyal-Niagara, Manhattan-Marist, Marist-Niagara, Manhattan-Niagara, Loyola-Siena, Canisius-Niagara, Rider-Niagara and the list keeps going. So there are other teams capable of putting on shows like we saw. The league is down, par, and showing it - even Iona can up end one of those 2 teams. The top four are good but NOT great like past champs Iona/Manhattan/Niagara. A first round lose by any of those teams would have been a shocker. It would not be a shocker if any 5-8 team up ends either one early in the tourney. So a first round loss by the Aints or the Foxes would not be a shocker hence not "THE CLASS".

Are you going to do a home and home with NJIT again next season? MAAC is slumming. Face it MAAC is not the conference it was. Your are a top of a conference that has slipped 10 spots from years gone by. MAAC will be lucky if it posts a 15 seed in the tourney if Marist doesn't win it.

[> [> [> [> Re: Idiot! -- Scoop, 17:54:57 02/24/07 Sat

It might as well be 2002 all over again with Rider/Marist at the top and your 9-9 (7) seed Siena winning it all. So go celebrate 4th place in league with no top tier.

That was a Siena team that bucked its wrong-minded head coach behind one of the best MAAC players of all time playing the best basketball of his career. Who do you see doing something like that this year?

That was the year Ryder and Marist were good but everyone knew not THAT good. That year Marist also has a PG going NBA..... what was his name??

Marist...senior laden and a guard going NBA with TONS of media in NYC playing the kid UPWARDS!! Ever been to NYC?

Marist/Siena..Upstate campus each, clean, good ratings academically and with a 90 minute drive of each other. Not some dump like Jersey City or NewRoach Shell. The fans that showed up are actually employed. Pregnancy rate on both girls hoops teams non existant.

Siena..Recovering program and great young team, most athletic in conference.

Marist/Siena..Young classy coaches not looking like they work nites at a donut shop in Virginia Beach.

Even ESPN and the MAAC had the vision to televise this game!!! Ensor out thought YOU!

Face it, you just cannot stand the fact Upstate NY programs are the class of the MAAC!!

But again, yes, anyone can be leaving the tournament earlier than expected.

Got a glimpse of the Hayseed Nation that arrived at the game via the handicap bus today. A bunch of blue hairs and dry crotches waiting for the grim reaper to call. Those still "employed", call working for the State a job when it really amounts to a handout.

Albany has got to be the arm pit of all creation. At least big money and lots of real jobs are coming in to J.C. and N.R.

Bank of America must have released those credit cards to illegal aliens as expected.

Not to count the money dragged in to buy votes by Hillaryous Clinton and Seed of Chucky Schumer. Talk about welfare to people wearing white shirts.

As bad as the MAAC is, Siena is far from its best. Their biggest win this season has been against Albany in o/t, not an elite team by any stretch.

Of course the Hayseeds will jerk each other to such an extent that they will begin to believe their own crap.
