Who the hell was the Dracut local access TV station to tell Brian Bond he COULD NOT air a campaign broadcast a month or so prior to this past Town Election???
Why couldn't ALL political candidates get to air their own Infomercial 3-4 times a week -- DURING WEEKDAY PRIMETIME HOURS -- a month prior to the election? How many candidates do you see getting elected in Dracut that you really don't know anything about?
Why should people running for elected public office be forced to relegate themselves to bending over and kissing the collective fat, stinkin asses of the Lowell Sun and WCAP for any legitimate shot of successfully winning their respective campaign?
Everybody knows that DATV board members Jack Lyons and Michael "Chapter 11" Maguire are "bosom buddies" with Warren "Barnyard Animal" Shaw, who has his own show on 'CAP and then manipulates about 99.9 percent of the Dracut-related articles in The Sun via having Editor Jim Campanini as a "regular guest" on at least half of his radio shows.
It's my understanding that even Roger Daigle and Bill Pappas were given a memo by DATV strongly regulating their "election-related content" on their local access show, Inside Dracut Politics, a couple months prior to this past May's election. If Daigle and Pappas failed to abide by that, their show would've been yanked from a weekday, prime-time slot.
I will say, in the case of videotaping that Walgreens public hearing for a local access TV broadcast, I support DATV over the Selectmen 110 percent. I think, however, there's still a lot of "tweaking" that needs to be done over at DATV to sufficiently serve ALL the needs of the Dracut community.
