Without the benefit of a completed investigation, Chief Richardson has determined that no matter what happened, the Deputy did nothing wrong? The next thing we'll be hearing is that Lt. Barker, (Chartrand's lunch mate, and Richardson's personal friend) will be in charge of the investigation. Note to Chief: Responding officers, both patrol and command have already told you and way too many people what really happened out there. A command level officer who tells one lie, can no longer effectively do his job. Beware of the greatest investigative tool in your arsenal, the polygraph, which doesn't care what rank you are! Some day you may find yourself and your Deputy strapped up to one...after all it is a viable tool, isn't it Chief?
