Subject: Diet question

I just inherited a Southern flying squirrel. He's a great little guy, hopped into my hand first thing! He was pretty skinny initially, but I've been giving him acorns, ground cherries, yellow pear tomatoes, crab apples, apples, grapes, mushrooms, and sunflower seeds (he's filled out in the last week). He LOVES getting into the dogs' dry food. He also got after an avocado pit. I haven't seen those on any lists so I'm concerned are these okay for him to eat? I know they shouldn't have chocolate or almonds, but I don't know about other things.
