Subject: Cage requirements

How far can the spacing be between bars? I've heard that a 5'h x 2'd x 3'w is adequate for one flyer, but what about two? I'm also thinking I'll need three nest boxes (one communal and larger). I've been changing the litter twice a week, and Alder doesn't seem too pleased with this, but maybe because it includes his nest box too. Am I doing things right or wrong?
