Hi, I do keep a feeder going in the winter, that tree is about 6' from my door. When the weather is cold, they are usually waiting in the feeder for me. I used a Panasonic FZ30 digital camera with an external diffused flash, which really lights the scene nicely with no hard shadows.

The fattest flyers I ever saw were at the Duluth, MN zoo, they were amazing.
