The article taked about parts of the midwest, and upper atlantic coast. Here in Minnesota we had a fair crop from the white oaks, but nothing at all from the red oak. I was able to find some butter nut trees here, and three very rare hickory trees. I did visit relatives in Missouri this past October and loaded up on hickory nuts. Giving them to my pet flyer, and the wild ones outside.
