I've had to trim Rockie's bottom teeth (6 yr old SFS)several times. I do the same thing as you do except I use a very small cat nail clipper. It's very sharp and fits nicely around the teeth. I use a QTip stick as a wedge but like your idea of the stick a little better.

He hates being restrained but other than that it takes a quick second and he's done. I am a wreck before and during but he's no worse for the wear.

Thanks for posting that YouTube...it will help many people.
