Nugget also does this when he drops his balls...Usually the agressiveness is short lived,a few days,sometimes it does not happen.
The longest this behavior has lasted was just last month., when he carried on being a mean little cuss for almost a month.He bloodied my nose and was so aggressive I kept him confined to his cage.
His hormone level has gone downhill and he's much better behaved now.
