This is Year 2001 and we are the next generation to manage this board.
HISTORY: The original idea for this ples kivung came from the first free speech forum called No Glitches set up by others couple years back. It is now dead - CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT'S LEFT. | When that forum was being destroyed by harrassment, some PNGeans decided to make their own free speech forum but a bit different. This '5575' PLES KIVUNG forum started where they left off. It has gone thru some generations itself and now here we are. WHY EVERYONE LOOKS ANONYMOUS? Mipela no bin putim spes for your name on the posting form, so all the postings say anonymous. If you don't like yu mas raitim nem o pen nem blo yu at the end of your posting. We continued old No Glitches pasin to try to cut back on the name calling distractions which mess up threads on some of the other PNG message boards when people's names are out in front.
WHY ARE '5575' PLES KIVUNG ADMINSTRATORS HIDDEN? This relates mainly to the UNETHICAL PNG LIDA? forum. When people have posted politically sensitive things here before on Wantoks Forum and we were told their admin were pressured by leaders to take off those postings. We don't have this pressure because the politicians don't know who we are and they won't. So no censorship. We will reopen this forum another place if they try to close this place down. We think PNG leaders should reply to allegations and defend themselves instead of trying to shut people's mouths and questions thru censorship.
DO WE LIKE EVERYTHING PEOPLE POST ON OUR FORUM? No.
WHY WE EXPANDED '5575' PLES KIVUNG WITH NEW FORUMS? We noted from the postings that talking about people and name calling can discourage more educational postings. We will not censor but instead make a place for different kinds of posting. Post in the right place so we don't have to take off your posting.
WHAT IS THE ANONYMIZER THING THAT THERE IS A LINK TO? It is a special server computer in America set up to help free speech. When you use it (www.anonymizer.com) that computer becomes a middleman between you and whatever web sites you go to or post on. You will see this in your browser window address if The Anonymizer is your middleman. When you use The Anonymizer no one can see your computer name or where you're coming from for tracing purposes when you post. We copied this feature from No Glitches and we notice people use it lots. If you don't trust us or who we are then use it so we and even voy.com can't trace you.==CLICK HERE TO ENTER ANONYMIZER==. Even in our PNG democracy a lot of people are fright to talk out think about it. Something is broken in our democracy in PNG if people are so worry about payback for speaking out. If Anonymizer helps silent ones speak up then great.
GLITCHES ON '5575' PLES KIVUNG: Original No Glitches forum seems to have been started because of suspicious glitches on Wantoks Forum that knocked off postings, but we don't call ourselves that because we don't own this voy server and they have glitches. We apologise for any glitches but cannot control.
ODD TO HAVE TRANSPARENCY LINKS ON '5575' PLES KIVUNG? This is a remark we have overheard. Think about it, transparency does not come overnight but in slow steps. In PNG transparency is coming very slowly. We let you speak anonymously if you want, even anonymously to us but real change will take place in our PNG leadership only when people will start standing up and being counted. We encourage people to walk the road to transparency as fast or slow as they want em tasol.

WHAT IF YOU FEEL WE DON'T LIKE OUR EDITORIAL ACTIONS? Set up your own forum or under some cases, we will set up a forum for you AND give you the password to manage it. We can link your forum to ours so everyone will know about it. Then you can talk away we won't be able to control anything you say. We won't silence anyone, even crazy and unreasonable people but we will regulate them.
WHAT ABOUT CONVERSATIONS OR TOPICS THAT UNFAIR TAKE OVER THE FORUM? If a topic is getting out of control, we will set up a new special forum just for that topic.
WHAT ABOUT UNFAIR ALLEGATIONS, BASELESS CHARGES, O PASIN BILONG RABISIM NEM BLO ARAPELA MAN ETC? Internet forums aren't like a 1-way newspaper. You have time and ability if you feel you are accused to make an equal counterattack or defense that stands alongside the original allegations or charges. We aren't in the village anymore. In the modern world we find ourselves in, especially in democracies, it is hard and even looks bad if you spend your time trying to shut other people up. Spend that time instead giving facts and information that will show the allegations are wrong. Shutting people up is how our corrupt leaders manage to keep their wrongdoing silent from our newspapers and even the police today in PNG. There are enough Papua New Guineans on the internet to alert anyone who is being attacked on the internet. That person can find a way to get internet access and then reply. Better that they reply rather than be silent and let the charges stick. To be honest it is impossible to stop unfair allegations and we don't have time to always be censoring. We cannot judge either who is right or wrong, we are on the internet, not in the village.
SHARING LINKS: Any other forum administration may copy and paste the forum links tables onto their own forum so that we can all be linked more tightly together. PNG forums die quickly sometimes. Best way to keep your forum alive is to have many other forums have links to your forum. You take the first step by putting links to the other forums on your site then maybe they will be kind to help you out too by putting links.
PURPOSE OF '5575' PLES KIVUNG: To encourage and make sure there is diversity, not monopoly in Message Boards and Discussions Forums for Papua New Guineans. That is why we strongly promote all discussion forums not just our own. We also want to make sure that all Papua New Guineans can speak freely without fear of being censored or harrassed by others.
