Hi Lynn,

as another dyslexic, I hear you and can comiserate. But you already know the answer. You know you can learn it, these difficult words are after all just words. I have to use many of them in my job as it encompasses many different fields of science. Sometimes I have so much trouble pronouncing things that I stutter. (not to mention that I drive people nuts by saying uhhhhmmmm more than words in some sentences)

However, we are smart, we have proven it often enough. Acquiring the new lingo will take some time but you get used to it. Our learning curve is just slower to take of, but when it does, it is all of a sudden there.

do we still sometimes struggle, yes, of course...but putting more stress on yourself won't help that because it just confuses our systems. Find ways and time to relax is very important but also ways to keep practicing and learning.

Vince

P.S. it may help to have a chat with the people you work with most closely about dyslexia and what it means to you and your working relationships. I would suggest only doing so if you feel safe to do so.
