Ron was labeled mentally retarded in school. At the age of 17 he was given an IQ test which revealed that he was in fact, a genious! They gave him speach therapy at this point because he spoke very little, once he could speak, they decided to teach him to read using the phonics approach. This didn't work because he doesn't think with the sounds of words...he thinks in pictures and has no verbal thoughts. At the age of 38 he figured out how to make the letters "be still" and could finally read! He developed a program and has facilitators all over the world that provide his programs. It is truly life changing because it gets to the root cause of the problem and gives you a solution to deal with your dyslexia. Author: cath [Edit] Date Posted: 12:33:18 09/07/07 Fri Same here, always thought there was something not right with my brain, & I'd go off and buy books on measuring your IQ, then not do the tests in case I'd find out my IQ was below 10, and then forget I had done this and do it again. In total I found 3 unused IQ books when I was springcleaning. I've since met the guy who diagnosed me & he wishes he was dyslexic. Seemingly we think very differently, always have another angle on a subject, and in fact I've been told I've more brains than those he works with that have PhDs and Masters !! We really are a bunch of very clever people, who haven't been catered for by traditional systems
