You need to believe me when I say, "You're not the only one". I'm not going to sugarcoat things for you. But, I will say this, if you truly want to put the past behind and wipe the slate clean, give yourself a fresh start in life. If you have a computer or can access one go to this website: www.dyslexia.com; find a facilitator in your area; ask to be assessed for dyslexia (the assessment doesn't cost much); this assessment will determine whether or not you are dyslexic-which you will find out right away. If you are, then have a heart-to-heart conversation with the facilitator and explain your financial situation. I am sure you will be helped in a very positive and professional manner. You will also be given the opportunity to have your dyslexia corrected and the tools necessary to help you become a happy and successful individual.
How do I know all this? I have read "The Gift of Dyslexia" and "The Gift of Learning", both written by an incredible man whom I know personally. A man who's been to hell and back (I kid you not). This brilliant man is Ronald Davis.
I understand no two dyslexics are the same, however every dyslexic has something in common which is the torture they endure by a less than understanding system.
Another thing Sandy, if you are dyslexic and because it is a Gift, surely there must be something that you excel in. You need to believe in yourself and find your gift in order for your life to take shape.
