Its such as shame that your collegues are discriminating as it doesnt exactly help im sure. Maybe if you was to tell them you would probably find a few other dyslexic nurses within the team???. Going through my training i was always unsure weather or not to tell mentors on placements but have been lucky as the ones i have told have been really supportive. my friend Amy who is also dyslexic has never told anyone including her mum and her partner as she is unsure of there reactions.(Stigma of being thick, she was a grade A student!!!). The way i see it is maybe you will never know how people will react until you tell them. Remember as long as your cup is always half full, (as opose to half empty), dont worry about small minded people who arnt lucky enough to have the caring nature and holistic way of thinking that us dyslexis do!!!
Stay in touch
