hey Nicole dear just to let ya know...dyslexia isn't a disease.
some basic facts:
-A condition arising from an different neural makeup in the left brain( lack of a word processing center) boots everything to the right side of the brain into the higher secondary neural pathways to make sensae of the input. A dysleics person's brain works 4.3 times as much doing the same task as a typical person. that is way you feel you think so much because you are thinking more. ie: a typical person learns a word when exposed to it 14-20x where as a dyslexic may need 2000-4000x the exposure to the same word. That's alot of work. Common Myths about Dyslexia
„« Dyslexia is rare. ( 23% of the population )
„« Dyslexics will not succeed in life. (A great majority of dyslexics have invented or done something great for humanity).
„« Dyslexia will prevent your child from succeeding. ( Your child should succeed not despite dyslexia but because of It )
„« Dyslexics are learning disabled. (Dyslexics can also be learning disabled but usually they only become learning disabled because of ineffective teaching.)
„« It is difficult to diagnose. (It is the easy once you know what you are looking for )
„« Reading difficulties disappear with age. ( Not if it's dyslexia )
„« Repeating a school grade can remove dyslexia. (To do more of the same that made you fail in the first place? )
„« Dyslexia is limited to those who reverse letters or numbers. ( Only 10% of dyslexics reverse letters )
„« Dyslexia is caused by parents who do not read to their children. (Some parents read often to their children, some are writers, own book shops, are translators ...)
„« Dyslexia cannot be diagnosed until a child is in third grade. ( It should be diagnosed in kindergarten )
„« Only a psychologist can assess individuals with dyslexia. ( Only if he has received training in the assessment of people with dyslexia )
There is no cure and it will not go away.

I'm with you...
Nicole, don't say disease, the way you say that the way you do it somehow gives power over to all things that aggrevate and stress you regarding Dyslexia.
You are you, that fact will become increasing positive and productive, or increasingly less productive and especially insignificant.
You are significant!
You have a specific contribution to make to this world... so make it.
Feel like screaming? Go somewhere alone and scream as loud as you can trust me, it helps!
Regarding balness & thumbs:
I am bald, but I have thumbs.
You are not bald and you have thumbs... right there is something to feel good about (lol).

Why do you have to go and tell a sad person that they are wrong and what they should not say or should say! Where is the care the love the concern! Go offer your comments to someone who cares about your information because I do not think this girl cares about wiether or not this is a disease. Good thing you two are most likely not ever going to be doctors I wold hate for either of you to be mine Have some heart why don't you
