Dyslexia questionnaire:

1. Are you Male or Female? female
2. Have you told your employers you have Dyslexia? no
3. If so were you apprehensive in telling them and if you did not tell them why?
4. Did you disclose your Dyslexia at interview or after you secured the job?
5. Do you feel your employer/manager reacted positively, negatively or indifferently?
6. Do you feel reasonable adjustments were made for you in the selection process?
7. Do you feel Dyslexia has affected your performance at work? sometimes
8. What things in particular do you find difficult at work because of your Dyslexia. writing notes, reading off the computer
9. Has your employer made any adjustments at the workplace for you?
10. If not what sort of adjustments would you like to be implemented? screen reader, backgroud couor screnn
11. Are you aware Dyslexia is recognised under the Disability Discrimination act? (1995) yes
12. In general what kind of preconceptions do you think employers have of people with Dyslexia? they dont know how it efects each individual

Dyslexia questionnaire:

1. Female?
2. Yes, I have
3. Yes I was, as unsure of the reaction, looking at me as I was dump and not able to cope with the job.
4. When first joiing the company - no, after applying internal for jobs yes -
5. In somce cases positively - they paid for 1/2 my assessment fee and provided support in the workplace in correspondeces to clients. In some cases NO as declined for a management position as unable to due to "dyslexia".
6. Yes as they have accounted for my strenghts in the job and understanding I need extra help on some areas.
7. Yes but in a postive way as it make me work harder and able to have attention to details, be able to explain to clients thinks in a simple way and provide a bit a fun for the team with some interst spelling errors in team emails.
8. REading clients names and them say again, reading medical conditions and say again, writing letters with the correct spelling and grammer.
9. Paid for 1/2 my assessment test, medical dictorary in simple language, a mentor (who is also dyslexi and in a management postion), checking of letters and e-mails and not looking me as difficult in a negetive way.

11. yes - in NZ this is cover under Human rights act.
12. they are not aware of what it fully is and how it effects individuals. I think it sounds like a terminate disease to them sometimes.
