I do the same type of things you are not alone
in conversation I laugh it of and blame it on my blonde hair! Or more formally my terrible memory (not the cause which is dyslexia)
Generally in conversation I have learnt that if im not sure whether it was the right person or place etc, I either try to get clues to confirm (not reliable), OR say “my memory is so bad, was it you who gave me a present”, (this often leads to an apology by me). I daily get things wrong and blame it on my memory, I find for me this keeps conversations flowing and less embarrassing
At the end of the day yes I get so easy confused and distracted but I know that I am able to achieve in whatever I put my mind to. I am me and proud to be me, knowing I have dyslexia has be a weight lifted as I know that I am not stupid (or incomplete) anymore I am lisa, I just have a condition that makes life more challenging, no one is perfect, my dyslexia causes problems but these I work to overcome, anyone who doesn’t allow for that has a lake of understanding/empathy and that’s there problem don’t let that become your problem and effect you.
You can do anything you want to,
