At 5 years old I thought my identical twin boys were Dyslesic. Knew the alphabet and then forgot it. As I was dyslexic I told the school I was Dyslexic and my concerns for the boys. They did some tests and started giving them learning support. DORE do not take them too young. After four years at school they still could not read. Due to them distracting each other it took us longer to complete the program. One was ahead of the other on the program and he is now only registering slightly dyslexic and reading and writing on his own (in 5th year at school). The other is registering severly dyslexic and still has not achieved the first level in reading. See some improvement and I hope it comes together for him. They have to relearn everything after the program. I think attitude had a impact on the learning and the results.

As you see mixed results. I think I would recommend doing it but leave it to before secondary if your child is not that bad he may just be slow picking things up.

We are doing Explore Learning now to try and catch up on the learning.

JJ, thanks for your help,

I have spoken to DORE and yes they will not except children as young as five. I am considering it for my self as i to am dyslexic and have been diagnosed by a psychologist. But I have doubts if it can really improve my memory.

Thanks

Andrew
