Subject: 84 928S Stereo Upgrade

I'm interested in upgrading my completely factory 8 speaker system. To install a new CD player, what am I looking at in terms of doing it myself? Bypassing the fader? Disconnecting the factory amp? Rewiring the speakers? Mounting depth? I will be upgrading my speakers soon, but would like to enjoy the CD player until I do. Any info would be great!
