I'm wondering why you would want to change to an automatic??? Most of the sharks made were automatics and the 5sp cars are often more sought after. From what I saw in the search for my shark, there are many more automatics availabe in pristine condition for lower prices than the 5sps.

While I'm not a mechanic, I looked in the Chiltons manual and it looks like a lot of work and expense even if you do the work yourself. "Grand Touring" aside, from my perspective, the 5sp is just much more fun to drive.
